Lion Air history for more than 12 years in civil aviation since October 1999 makes the company becomes premium airline service in Indonesia but it doesn't have to come at a premium price. The company has purchased Boeing 230 aircraft consisting of 201 units of B-737 MAX and 29 Next Generation 737-900 ERS unit. Sales of 230 aircraft worth U.S. $ 2.17 billion, or around Rp 195.2 trillion to the biggest selling commercial aircraft Boeing has ever experienced so far, both in dollar value and total number of aircraft.
Lion Air believes, Boeing 737-900ER cabin has been designed to give passengers comfort with plenty of living space while they take the passengers to their destination. the company is also becomes the largest operator of Boeing 737-900ER, the newest member of Boeing’s Next-Generation 737 airplane family.

This partnership is a collaboration between the lion air and Bank International Indonesia.
Now lion air is led by Mr. Rusdi Kirana as President Director. The company head office is located at Jakarta with callsign "Lion Inter"
