Finance Controller Job
The Financial Controller is responsible for providing sound business support to the assigned management team by ensuring that the subsidiary runs smoothly. This is achieved through the execution of well orchestrated business processes and the discipline to follow through. He/ she has to make sure that efforts of the organization are correctly aligned and tuned for maximum performance. This position is responsible to establish internal controls, recommend and implement policies, drive the budgeting process, financial processes, manage financial reporting including statutory as well as management reporting.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for management of the subsidiary P&L to ensure Quarterly Financial Accountabilities are delivered.
- Directly responsible for managing financial statements (statutory and management) and working with financial auditors/tax consultants to meet statutory/legal requirements.
- Drive Mid-Year Review, Planning and Monthly Forecast rhythm with focus on profitability, CPH and expenses control.
- Drive and participate in design, implementation and monitoring of preventative and detective internal controls and related processes in field operations such as sales, marketing, procurement, and general finance functions.
- Ensure integrity of the compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures.
- Directly responsible for Internal Controls, including Subsidiary Compliance Assessment, Internal Audit Assessment, following up on open Audit issues, Compliance to Microsoft and local Policies and Procedures, Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
- Manage &/or mentor Finance & Admin employees.
This position has frequent contact with senior executives in the MS Subsidiary. Contacts include, but not limited to:
- Subsidiary: Country Manager and his Direct Reports, HR Organization, LCA
- Finance: Local and overseas Finance peers, Regional and SMSG Corporate Financial Controller, Regional Controls & Compliance Mgr, One-finance team, Procurement Manager, Real Estate & Facilities Manager, International Accounting team.
- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in financial and accounting positions (CPA, CA or equivalent is highly desired).
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of internal controls and compliance.
- Strong understanding and experience in multinational financial operations with good understanding of US GAAP.
- Experience with business processes and systems, including period-end closing, planning/ budgeting, forecasting, invoicing/receivables, payroll, payables, procurement, taxes.
- Experience in working in matrix organizations with emphasis on communicating and decision making and demonstrated ability to work under pressure. Must be motivated by interdependency.
- Strong management skills and a demonstrated ability to drive the effective implementation of procedures and policies to support operational business requirements across organizational boundaries.
- Team player and must have ability to manage cross group and cross country boundaries.
- Highly developed analytical and organizational skills.
- Bilingual with English as a secondary language.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and some experience with ERP systems.
